Art Progression meme

Description

This is why I encourage people to draw, even when they clearly "have no talent" or really, really have no sense of...much anything important in art.
Because I really didn't. I could show you the stuff I drew when I was ten, some pseudo anime crap that really isn't fit to be seen, but I think the slow, VERY slow progression on improvement in this thing shows clearly enough how much (and eventual) WORK I have put into drawing.
You see plenty of teens on DA who have just started drawing and they all have a great sense of bodies, limbs, facial expressions, etc. They're so young, and they didn't have to work at it so much. Sure, I'm jealous. I'll admit that openly. It'd be sweet to have been able to draw what I wanted at an earlier age and be much more improved than I am now.
But in a way I'm glad I'm not them. Drawing, thought it has had little practical use, has been something in my life than often gave me a sense of accomplishment when nothing else would, because even though I sucked, I kept going at it, slowly trying to improve.

tl;dr You don't need to be talented to be able to draw decently. Just a shitton of hard work and a decade or so. c:

Amen, sistah!

You just reminded me that I totally need to do this meme. Maybe later, when I'm not crazy from the Midol. xD

I like seeing other people's progressions, they're supah interesting.
